加拿大银行(央行)3月13日宣布将基准利率下调50个基点至0.75%，以应对新冠肺炎疫情蔓延和国际油价暴跌等对加拿大经济造成的巨大冲击。
这是加拿大银行10天内第二次降息，是此前计划外的利率调整。2018年10月以来，加拿大银行一直把基准利率维持在1.75%，但为了应对新冠肺炎疫情蔓延引发的金融动荡，本月4日央行将基准利率下调50个基点至1.25%。
加拿大银行表示，随着国际经济形势发展，将会在需要时再次调整利率，确保加拿大金融体系具有足够的流动性，以支持加拿大经济增长。
