美国财长姆努钦认为无需与美联储加强协调
美国财长姆努钦表示，他认为没有必要加强政府与美联储之间的协调。在美联储应对下一次衰退的工具所剩无几之际，姆努钦的评论与投资者的呼声背道而驰。包括摩根大通首席执行官Jamie Dimon、贝莱德和前央行官员在内的人士纷纷呼吁美联储和政府之间应该有更明确的合作。
“我不认为有必要采取协调一致的行动，”姆努钦在利雅得举行的G20财长和央行行长会议期间接受采访称，“我不认为需要定义协调行动或独立性”。
姆努钦保留了长期以来由财长和美联储主席每周举行会议的传统。姆努钦称，他与美联储主席鲍威尔的沟通将一如既往地继续下去。但投资者担忧长达十年的美国经济扩张可能即将结束，而美联储维持利率在历史低位附近，将无法应对下一次衰退。
美国30年期国债收益率跌至历史新低，部分反映了这些担忧。“当利率较低时，显然央行的行动空间就减少，”姆努钦称，“对于我来说，这不是大问题。对于欧洲人来说，这是一个更大的担忧”。
