1、不遵守预先制定的交易规则，其结果是赔大钱，赚小利。许多投资者在入市初期不设定进攻和防御计划是导致外汇交易最终失败的最大诱因。
2、交易投机性较大的商品是常见的错误。如果没有把握那么就不要进行外汇交易，这是最基本的交易技巧，可是就是有很多人每天在这个问题上不止被绊倒一次。
3、外汇交易者常常根据自己掌握的一些信息去判断：正在恶化的市场只是一个短暂的过程，这样只会招致巨额的亏损。对信息的理智判断虽然短时间内难以做到但是只要投资者好好的加强对自己这方面的判断就会好很多了，经验往往都是积累起来的，刚开始的小失败是正常的事情。
4、狂妄自大。一旦盈利就抛弃原有的操作理论。盲目做单。想当然的交易，不尊重市场。这种外汇交易心态或者说思想是最危险的，投资者不能按照自己的想法进行操作，因为市场是客观存在的，以主观的思维去应对客观的市场必然会失败。
