#USeconomy# #Todayanalysis# #USFiscalPlan# #market# According to Reuters, the Trump administration plans to officially launch a tariff refund system on April 20 (local time), aimed at reimbursing importers for $166 billion in tariffs (approximately RMB 1.13 trillion). These tariffs were ruled “illegal” by the U.S. Supreme Court in February this year.
Reports indicate that on the 14th, U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated in a filing submitted to the U.S. Court of International Trade that the first phase of development for a large-scale refund processing system for importers has been largely completed, and the refund process is scheduled to begin on the 20th.
Refunds will be issued electronically in a lump sum, and in applicable cases, will include interest, replacing the previous method of processing refunds on a case-by-case basis.
Data shows that as of April 9, approximately 56,000 importers have completed the electronic refund process, involving a total amount of $127 billion (approximately RMB 866 billion).
