有段时间非常迷惑一个问题：为什么这么明显的空头信号和趋势，还有人一定要做多呢？难道这么明显的趋势方向改变都看不出来？明知道是逆势了还要下单，难道被套是件很愉快的事吗？
之后接触圈子里的朋友越来越多，发现结果却未必如我认为的那样。有时候逆势的朋友结果是赚钱，而顺势的朋友反倒亏钱出局。细心研究了一番，发现是一个隐藏在技术图表背后的因素——交易的“核心时间周期”不同导致的。
交易员有长线、中线、短线、炒单的类别；交易方式也有“趋势、波段、短线”的划分。小鳄鱼更喜欢用后一种方法来区分。做趋势的、做波段的还有做短线的究竟有什么区别？在我分析的过程中，发现他们的技术手段大同小异，几乎没什么太大的区别，唯一的根本性的不同就只有是一个：时间周期不同。
