美国财政部长耶伦认为，美国陷入衰退的风险正在减弱，并预计消费者支出放缓可能是抗通胀所付出的代价。此外今年可能会有更多美国的银行出现合并。
在谈到美国经济衰退的可能性时，耶伦表示，“如果有的话，我预计可能性已经下降了。因为劳动力市场具有弹性，通胀正在下降。我不会说没有经济衰退的风险，因为美联储正在收紧货币政策。”
关于消费，耶伦表示，很可能需要看到消费者支出有所放缓，以控制住通胀。
耶伦指出，美国通胀确实已经下降了很多，而且还会有更多下降，部分原因是房地产市场的预期调整。不过，扣除食品和能源后的核心通胀仍然“相当高”。
