World Gold Council has reported that for Q3 2022, there were huge purchases of 400 tonnes by central banks, numbers not seen for 2 decades. Unfortunately, it did not name the big mysterious sovereign buyers. Seems like gold is living up to its reputation as the 'recession-proof asset'.
