在交易中，可供使用的交易方法有无数种。有一些方法可以设定具体止损及盈利目标，而其他方法在这一点上则大有不同。举例来说，假如您每笔交易都采用20点止损订单策略，并且只做欧元/美元货币对交易，很容易算出您需要进行多少笔交易才能达到投资目标。但是，当采用止损目标甚至交易货币都不尽相同的组合交易策略时，要进行这样的计算难度无疑会大幅增加。
这种情况下，想要让每笔实际交易满足您所设定的风险额度，最简单的一个方法就是自定义交易部位。外汇交易的标准单位为1手，即10万元该货币，也即在欧元/美元货币对中，如果您持有的基础货币是美元，点值则为10美元；1迷你手为1万元该货币。
如果您希望将欧元/美元交易的风险值设定为每点波动对应15美元，则不能按标准手交易，因为标准手交易会要求对该数值进行调整。而选择迷你手或微型手交易则可以满足需求。如需设置每点波动对应12.5美元，则不可采用标准手或迷你手交易，只能选择微型手交易。
在交易领域，如果想要成功获利，灵活操作自己的交易需求及时机也是很重要的。
