对于决定在任何市场进行投资的投资者来说，这都是一项个性化的指标。很多交易讲师会将每一项交易的可耐受风险设置为账户总额的1%、2%甚至5%。但设置这样的数据通常只是出于习惯。由于对交易知识缺乏了解，对交易本身或交易系统感到陌生，交易新手通常会欠缺自信，进而选择较低的风险百分比。
比如，您采用一种交易模式，平均每天交易1次，并将每笔交易的可承受风险设定为期初余额的10%，那么，从理论上看，只需连续有10笔交易亏损就可以让您亏损掉账户内全部资金。即使对于交易老手来说，在单笔交易中冒这么大的风险也没有太大的意义。
反之，若将每笔交易的风险限额设置为2%，则需连续亏损50次才会赔光期初余额。您认为连续亏损10次和连续亏损50次，哪一个发生的概率比较大呢?
