上周五，土耳其总统埃尔多安电视讲话称：土耳其政府现在的关注重点是通过投资、就业、生产、出口、经常项目盈余来扩大经济活动，已放弃将加息作为控制通胀的工具，誓言要通过降低借贷成本将土耳其变成一个高投资经济体。
上周一，土耳其官员出台了一系列非常规措施来支撑贬值的里拉，当时里拉兑美元今年已下挫逾50％。
紧跟其后，随着保护储户利益的新存款工具的推出，里拉收复部分失地。
从9月23日土耳其央行开始降息以来，里拉迄今累计贬值约26％。它仍然是新兴市场货币中，今年兑美元表现最差的货币，跌幅约为36％。11月土耳其通胀率升至逾21％。
