The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported that U.S. crude oil stockpiles built 806,000 barrels for the week ending July 16, higher than the expected increase of 4.176 million barrels.
Later today, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) will release the official oil inventories for the same period, with an expected decline of 4.46 million barrels.
