还有一个表现是,他们很难去平等地看待他人,他们在评估自己与他人的地位时只存在两种结果，要么比我强’要么比我弱”没有第三选项,就算一开始是难分高低，后面也会不断寻找机会直至双方确立结果为止，这些过程都是自动进行的不需要自主意识参与。要想去平等地去看待他人或自己，首先得要去抑制与地位相关的各种心理机制对自身的影响，但是个人主义盛行的环境会削弱这一影响。
