在经济合作暨发展组织(OECD)成员国中，新西兰的房地产价格飙升幅度最大，在过去12个月中上涨约30%。新西兰最大城市奥克兰的房价中位数从去年的92万纽元上涨至今年6月的115万纽元（80.13万美元），涨幅为25%。
西太平洋银行的新西兰策略主管Imre Speizer指出：“新西兰经济几乎已经补上了产出缺口，如果不减少刺激措施，将面临过热的风险，市场价格显示加息25个基点机率为百分之百，同时不排除加息50个基点的可能性。”他建议新西兰元只要回档至0.7005美元就可买入，目标是0.7300美元。
澳新银行(ANZ)首席经济学家Richard Yetsenga说：“新西兰的就业市场报告预计将为新西兰联储在8月加息提供最新的动力；而在经济急剧放缓的情况下，澳洲联储预计将扭转其缩表计划。”
