1957年反右运动，广东女孩凌宝儿的父亲被打倒入狱，因为背着黑身份，全家在当地无法立足，她冒险越境往香港谋生。
在香港无亲无故，找工作还需人担保，无奈之下，她嫁给九龙贫民周驿尚。很快，和周驿尚生下两女一子。没几年丈夫出轨，俩人离婚，她带着三个孩子尝尽人间辛酸。
毕业于广州师范大学的凌宝儿，为了让孩子以后才华横溢，出人头地，引用《滕王阁序》里的“雄州雾列，俊采星驰”一句，给儿子取了个俊俏名字
