馬斯克週三（21日）和Twitter創始人Jack Dorsey、女股神Cathie Wood，共同出席比特幣線上峰會「The B Word」。馬斯克表示，自己的資產除了特斯拉和SpaceX，就屬比特幣占最高比重，沒有動機刺激比特幣 #Bitcoin# 價格下跌。他透露，除了比特幣和狗狗幣，自己還持有以太幣。此外，SpaceX也持有比特幣，且不打算賣掉。
馬斯克還表示，自己不會拋棄比特幣，只要挖礦耗電提高再生能源的比重，特斯拉未來也極可能恢復接受消費者以比特幣購車。比特幣週二曾一度跌破3萬美元重要支撐，觸及一個月低點，週三展開反彈，並在馬斯克表達觀點後擴大漲幅。價格漲幅一度超過8%、回升至3.2萬美元附近。
