泰國的反政府示威浪潮持續，學生團體除了要求總理巴育下台，更促請改革君主立憲制，總理巴育要求示威者不要製造混亂，承諾會考慮他們的訴求。巴育說，國會已經成立委員會，討論修改軍方在2017年起草的憲法修正案，亦會建立機制，權衡年輕人的觀點。示威者認為，在目前憲法下，軍人出身的巴育，獲現時由親軍方政黨控制的國會，保證續任總理，批評是專制獨裁，要求改革，有學生團體更公開要求改變擴大君主權力的法律。泰國憲法規定，詆毀君主制最高可被判監15年。巴育曾經表示，泰王哇集拉隆功說過不希望再以相關法律起訴民眾，但巴育仍然要求示威者不要侮辱君主制，期望他們守法。
