Sejumlah Jurnalis Terima Paket Bom Berbentuk USB, 1 Meledak saat Disambungkan ke Komputer
QUITO, iNews.id - Sejumlah jurnalis di Ekuador menerima paket berisi bahan peledak kecil. Salah satu paket meledak, namun beruntung tak menimbulkan korban jiwa.
Menteri Dalam Negeri Ekuador, Juan Zapata pada Selasa (21/3/2023) mengaku jika pihaknya telah menangkap seorang tersangka. Namun dia tak mengklarifikasi identitas maupun motif pasti pelaku melancarkan teror.
"Tersangka tidak diidentifikasi agar tidak menghalangi penyelidikan yang sedang berlangsung," katanya.
Sebelumnya, lima paket berisi bahan peledak berbentuk USB dikirim ke sejumlah media dalam beberapa hari terakhir. Salah satu USB tersebut meledak di ruang redaksi saluran berita Ecuavisa pada Senin (20/3/2023) saat disambungkan ke perangkat komputer.
Seketika komputer hancur namun jurnalis yang dituju, Lenín Artieda selamat. Artieda memang dikenal karena liputannya tentang kejahatan dan korupsi.
