KONTAN.CO.ID - SYDNEY/JOHANNESBURG. Anak perusahaan Rio Tinto telah membentuk usaha patungan infrastruktur dengan Winning Consortium Simandou (WCS) dan Pemerintah Guinea. Kongsi itu membuka jalan dikerjakannya proyek bijih besi terbesar di dunia yang belum dikembangkan.
Usaha patungan (JV) untuk kereta api dan pelabuhan Simandou, merupakan tonggak sejarah bagi Rio dan WCS. Salah satu pemegang saham WCS yakni unit China Hongqiao. Namun kedua perusahaan mengatakan mereka masih harus menegosiasikan perjanjian JV akhir dengan tanpa memberikan batas waktu.
