KONTAN.CO.ID - MELBOURNE. AusNet Services Ltd., operator jaringan transmisi listrik Australia, akan diakuisisi Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Tawarannya sekitar A$ 9,6 miliar atau setara US$ 7 miliar.
Mengutip Bloomberg, Senin (20/9), perusahaan yang berbasis di Melbourne ini telah menghubungi dua pemegang saham terbesarnya, Singapore Power International Pte dan State Grid Corp. China, terkait rencana tersebut. Saham AusNet pun melonjak sebanyak 22% menjadi A$ 2,42 di Bursa Saham Siydney pada perdagangan Senin (20/9).
Penawaran indikatif Brookfield sebesar A$ 2,50 per saham atau di level premi 17% dari harga penutupan AusNet pada perdagangan Jumat (17/9). Para pihak akan melakukan uji tuntas dan telah sepakat untuk bernegosiasi secara eksklusif setidaknya selama tujuh minggu ke depan.
Kesepakatan ini mengikuti serentetan aktivitas merger dan akuisisi aset infrastruktur di Australia, termasuk jalan tol Sydney, perusahaan energi Spark Infrastructure Group dan Bandara Sydney.
