据新华社7月28日报道，一位病毒学专家分析，根据广州、瑞丽疫情观察，二轮、三轮核酸检测中还会筛查出感染者。目前南京疫情应仍属上升期，后续在全民核酸检测中或将继续发现感染者。
根据目前公布的信息来看，感染者中有机场保洁人员、地勤、机场司机、辅警等，有的感染者还参加过群体性活动。21日，南京新增感染者中已出现机场工作人员的亲属。23日，新增感染者家中已有两名确诊患者。多位专家据此判断，发生聚集性疫情、造成进一步扩散可能性很大，本轮疫情或已出现家庭传播及社区传播。
