中国地震台网正式测定：05月22日02时04分在青海果洛州玛多县（北纬34.59度，东经98.34度）发生7.4级地震，震源深度17千米。另据中新网消息，玛多县委宣传部工作人员李梅介绍，玛多县震感强烈，大家发觉后纷纷跑下楼，目前未收到人员伤亡的消息。中新社青海分社记者所在的青海省会西宁市震感强烈，记者感觉楼体晃动。西宁市民卢先生表示，“躺在床上感觉左右晃动，鱼缸的水哗哗作响。”西宁消防部门已原地待命。
