美总统气候特使：日本与IAEA合作是处理核污染水的关键
18日，正在韩国访问的美国总统气候特使约翰·克里在首尔表示，日本处理福岛核电站核污染水的关键是与国际原子能机构（IAEA）进行协调合作，而美国不宜介入这一事务。
克里在当天举行的记者会上说，日本政府已经就这一问题向国际原子能机构进行了充分的咨询，而且国际原子能机构也已经建立了一套严格的体系，美国对此非常有信心。当前最重要的就是在国际原子能机构对日本将核污染水排入大海的过程进行监督时，日本政府继续与国际原子能机构协调合作。
克里还强调说，美国相信日本政府同国际原子能机构进行了密切合作，而且合作还将会继续进行。
当被问及美国是否愿意在日本将核污染水排入大海这一问题上发挥作用时，克里表示，美国政府目前没有任何相关计划。
克里17日抵达韩国后，与韩国外交部长郑义溶举行了会谈，期间郑义溶呼吁美国在这一问题上予以合作，督促日本在这一问题上保证信息透明、及时、公开。
