翻开历史的长卷，这种唯有中国才有的珍奇动物可以追溯至上古神话时期，传说涿鹿之战中，黄帝的坐骑是飞龙，而蚩尤的坐骑是“食铁兽”，经过考证，也就是我们现在所说的大熊猫。即在人类进化尚未完成时，熊猫就已生存在华夏大地。
自古以来，大熊猫就是神秘的奇珍异兽，其名称就有数十个之多：貔貅、貘、貊、驺虞、白熊、猛氏兽等，到了近代它的学名本叫猫熊。不过在汉字竖排右书改换为横排左书的时期，被误读为熊猫，以讹传讹、久而久之它的中文通用名就被大家公认为大熊猫。
但别看大熊猫胖乎乎、毛茸茸，就以为它只会撒娇卖萌装可爱，实则它搞起外交、拉动经济的功力可都超一流的。
只有我们想不到，没有“国宝们”达不到，吃穷国外的动物园，赚足人们的喜爱，斩获世界各地的粉丝，衍生五花八门的周边……萌力十足的大熊猫作为国宝，创造了它相对应的价值，无论从历史文化、社会经济还是政治外交，尤其情感上，我们早已离不开这个“国宝”。
