拜登呼吁再拨款300亿，用于租赁援助和延长驱逐禁令

为了阻止驱逐潮，拜登计划要求立法者在9000亿美元经济刺激计划中批准的250亿美元援助的基础上，再批准300亿美元的租金援助。这是在当选总统周四晚间演讲之前分发的一份简报文件。
另外50亿美元将用于为那些正在经历或面临无家可归风险的人寻找安全的住房，一项基金将帮助面临被驱逐的个人获得法律援助。
拜登还计划要求国会将驱逐和止赎禁令延长到2021年9月30日。目前的驱逐令将于本月底到期。
根据预算政策和优先事项中心(Center on Budget policy and
Priorities)的数据，去年12月，约有19%的租房者拖欠房贷。近30%的黑人租房者落后。与此同时，研究还表明，搬迁导致该地区冠状病毒病例和死亡人数显著增加。
拜登表示，他的计划将有助于将近1400万在疫情肆虐之际拖欠房租的美国人。
