疫苗接种进度缓慢 白宫计划将莫德纳疫苗减半剂量使用
当地时间1月3日，《纽约时报》报道称，美国联邦政府正考虑将美国生物技术企业莫德纳公司研发的新冠疫苗每针剂量减半，以加快美国民众的疫苗接种速度。
据报道，白宫新冠疫苗负责人、美国新冠疫苗计划“曲速行动”的首席顾问蒙塞夫·斯拉维在接受美国哥伦比亚广播公司采访时透露了这一消息。他表示，“从莫德纳公司提供的临床试验数据来看，给18岁至55岁之间的人注射一半剂量，可以与注射全部剂量产生‘相同的免疫反应’，这样可以在现有疫苗存量情况下让接种人数增加一倍”。
据他表示，目前美国联邦政府正与莫德纳公司、美国食品药品监督管理局就此设想进行沟通，是否推进上述计划将最终由食药局决定。同时，他还表示，目前美国联邦政府正努力支持各州疫苗注射，但各州还是由于人员配备和资金紧张等后勤障碍倍受困扰。截至1月4日早上，联邦政府已经分发了至少1300万剂疫苗，其中420万剂疫苗已经投入使用。
