新华社新德里12月16日消息，印度北方邦当日凌晨发生一起交通事故，致使至少12人死亡、近20人受伤。
据印度电视新闻网站报道，一辆公交车与一辆运输液化气的槽罐车16日凌晨在北方邦森珀尔地区相撞。公交车车体受损严重，槽罐车未发生气体泄漏。
因道路状况恶劣以及驾驶员超速、超载等违规操作，印度交通事故频发。据不完全统计，印度每年约有15万人死于交通事故。
