智通财经APP获悉，据媒体报道，巴西矿商淡水河谷(VALE.US)首席财务官Luciano Siani Pires周三(美东时间10月7日)表示，曾就镍供应安排接洽过特斯拉(TSLA.US)，但任何协议“都需要一定的时间”。该公司仍然计划在2020年交付3.1亿吨铁矿石。
知情人士透露，有关价格的谈判一直在进行中，目前双方尚未达成最终协议。
此前，淡水河谷表示，该公司正与特斯拉及其它电动车公司就从其加拿大业务中获取镍进行谈判。特斯拉和其他汽车制造商需要确保有足够的镍来生产未来5至8年电动车所需的电池。今年7月，特斯拉首席执行官埃隆·马斯克(Elon Musk)敦促矿业公司多生产镍，因为镍为该公司电动汽车提供动力的电池的关键成分。
