美国700万美元加密诈骗犯认罪
Jon Barry Thompson日前被美国检方指控犯有700万美元的加密货币诈骗罪，他将对此认罪。
今年4月，Thompson的律Peggy Cross-Goldenberg暗示案件已取得实质性进展。
Thompson是加密托管公司Volantis的负责人，根据指控，他利用诈骗计划欺骗多个客户，案涉金额超过700万美元。
在2018年6月至2018年7月期间，Thompson从一位客户那里收取了300万美元，但之后未将任何数字资产交付给受害者。
Thompson还向客户发送了虚假的对账单，谎称将客户的钱转给了第三方实体以换取比特币，但他实际上未收到任何比特币。受害者也从未收到任何数字资产或退款。
Thompson于去年被捕，并被指控犯有两项电汇欺诈罪和两项商品欺诈罪。
在支付了50万美元的保证金后，Thompson目前处于保释中。
美国商品期货交易委员会（CFTC）还对他的公司Volantis提起了民事诉讼。
