津巴布韦考虑采用加密货币作为法定货币
据报道，津巴布韦政府正在考虑采用加密货币作为法定货币。
媒体援引了已退休的总统办公室电子政府技术部门负责人Charles Wekwete的话称，津巴布韦已经咨询了与加密行业相关的各种企业，以评估该国加密货币合法化的可能性。
Wekwete在津巴布韦计算机协会（CSZ）信息通信技术（ICT）峰会上发表演讲时表示，虚拟货币仍是全球多个国家尚不清楚的话题，需要妥善解决。
他补充说，政府寻求制定政策，以建立框架，使加密货币成为津巴布韦的法定货币。事实上，Wekwete证实协商过程“已经在进行中”。然而，他邀请私营部门参与会谈，以支持评估和更好地理解加密技术背后的技术。
Wekwete还表示，津巴布韦将在其“National Development Strategy 1”下采用了基于数字经济的初步框架。
据报道，2020年7月至2021年6月期间，非洲加密货币市场的总价值跃升了近1200%。
